TEACHING FOREIGN LITERATURE IN A MODERN RUSSIAN UNIVERSITY: THE SEMIOTIC ASPECT

Abstract

The article presents the prospects of an edusemiotic approach in teaching literature within the framework of philological education programs at a domestic university. The iconic approach to text analysis makes it possible to use the mechanisms of "natural semiotics" based on the principles of identifying iconic similarities within the framework of personal practical experience. For the interpretation and deciphering of literary texts, the authors propose the identification of relevant cultural codes, elements of dynamic semiotics (narrative moves, chronotope, motifs, intertextual structures), as well as a structural analysis of the rhythm of the text. This approach helps, as the results of experimental training show, to increase the interest and motivation of philology students, improve the quality of work on the text and the skills of comparative analogies.
