DEVELOPING SOCIOCULTURAL COMPETENCE OF NON-LINGUISTIC SPECIALTY STUDENTS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TRAINING

Abstract

The article is devoted to the developing of socio-cultural competence of students majoring in Journalism from the standpoint of rendering special literature, their involvement in professional communication through a comparison of problems similar to Russia in the media sphere. The article examines various aspects of the issue, highlights the experience of Kazan Federal University in developing students' sociocultural competence in mastering “Foreign language in the professional sphere”. The main stages of organizational work on rendering articles including exercises, as well as discussion of the raised issues and conducting role-playing games are revealed. The authors present the features and types of role-playing games, and note their effectiveness in assessing new information obtained from the studied texts.
