IDEALS OF STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF PERSONAL MATURITY

Abstract

The article discusses various approaches to the study of the ideals of the individual, their formation, the mechanisms of action of ideals on the formation of the individual, in particular, in the issue of the development of personal maturity, are considered. The purpose of the article is to describe and analyze the results of the study of the ideals of students with different levels of personal maturity. To achieve the goal, a study of the ideals and personal maturity of 99 first-year students of various areas of training at the age of 18 – 19 was organized on the basis of the Altai State Pedagogical University. As methods of research of the ideals of the personality of students were used unfinished sentences, content analysis of mini-essays (“Ideal Lifestyle”, “Ideal Profession”, “Ideal Person”) and the method of semantic differential by V. F. Petrenko. The personal maturity of the subjects was measured using a test-questionnaire of personal maturity edited by Yu. Z. Gilbukh. The results of the study showed that students with different levels of personal maturity ideals have a number of features. In particular, those with a satisfactory level of personal maturity ideals are characterized by humanity, self-development, self-realization. At a low (unsatisfactory) level, ideals are more hedonistic. The applied value of the study for the psychological counseling of students is presented.
